I was disappointed with the Melrose. I was excited at first, walking into such a spacious room. It had a sink, mini-fridge kitchen area and then a sitting area with couch and coffee table, a desk, two beds, etc. The torn wallpaper was a bit off-putting but nothing I haven't seen before. Good value. Can walk to Georgetown or to the sites. We took taxis (about $10) to the sites. Little problem with the AC but was fixed. Very friendly hotel folks. Grab a drink at the bar and sit outside. Great people watching especially since the whacky George Washington students are back in session! more

Really good value for money. Clean and comfortable hotel with spacious rooms a few minutes walk from Georgetown with a lot of good restaurants and shopping. With bus one minute away and metro 5 minutes away it is easy to get to all important sights. more

The melrose needs to be refubished. Its showing its age. Peeling wallpaper, needs paint, baseboards falling off, dirty carpets. The staff is nice and courteous. Extras are expensive. Parking 38.00 and other extras are costly. It is centraly located only two blocks from the metro station. Would I stay there again? No. more
