The good parts: Gladiatori is perfectly placed to explore ancient Rome, overlooking the Colosseum (genuinely) and next to the Forum. The rooms – about 170 square feet, a bit small for anything but a short stay - were smart, clean and comfortable. The beds were excellent. Bathrooms were clean, though the showers are eccentric. The rooms have excellent double glazing... more

This hotel was a very good find and trip advisor helped a great deal. We wanted to find a centrally located hotel where we could rest for a day or two while we waited for friends to arrive from Greece. We found the Gladiatori's website and looked at photos and reviews. It seemed as if the place would live up... more

The hotel is well situated with decent sized rooms and nice facilities. My only complaint is that the service is rather poor. Upon arrival in the afternoon, I had the impression that there was insufficient staff. To begin with the receptionist who assisted me upon check-in also helped carry my bags to the room. She was the only person that... more

We have just come back from our first time in Rome, and the hotel Gladiatori. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel , if like us you are wanting to experience Rome in a truly breathtaking way. The staff were all extremely friendly, attentive and helpful , and the map they give you on arrival is really valuable ,... more

This is my favorite hotel in Rome I have stayed there several times, in 2003 and 2007. Before it was transformed into a hotel it stood next to gladiator barracks. Service is good and the rooms although small are perfect for a romantic getaway. The view of the Coloseum is unbeatable and is best appreciated on the rooftop garden during... more

We had arranged with the Hotel Gladiatori to have a limo pick us up at the airport so that we could get straight to the hotel since our plane was landing at 9:45pm. We had booked one night in a Standard room because we were arriving so late and checking into a hotel on the Spanish Steps the following day.... more

I recently visited Rome in late March of 2008. I stayed at the Hotel Gladiatori. The hotel was great; it had the perfect view of Rome. It was located just a couple hundred feet from the Colosseum and on the other side it faced a beautiful park. All of the meals were great. The breakfast was very fresh and consistent;... more

First the good news - if you want/have to be near the Colloseum, this is a good choice (although south-west and most other attractions are north-east of it). This gives a superb view, particularly from the fourth floor terrace over breakfast and at night when the Colloseum is lit up. The breakfast was very good quality, (although the tinned fruit... more

Dear Sir, I would firstly like to express my disappointment at your comments as I personally spoke to you during your stay and the main challenge you had experienced was that you did not check the hotel rate when making your booking. You then arrived at the hotel and requested a discount due to not being able to afford the...

At first I was a bit weary as the price seemed pretty high but after reading reviews on here I thought that it'd be worth paying a little more to have the coliseum view from our room. After pulling up to the hotel it didn't seem to be very luxurious but when you walk through the door you can see... more
